Introduction:
KittySitter (the “Platform”) is a service operated by ESTABLISHMENT TETBEKAT JAITE FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (“Jaite Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy for Users (“Policy”) explains what information we collect from individuals who register as users to request cat sitting services (“Users” or “you”), how we use and share that information, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using KittySitter as a User, you agree to the practices described in this Policy, which is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions for Users. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the Platform.
We collect personal information from you when you register for and use the KittySitter app and related services. The types of personal data we may collect include:
Identity and Contact Data: Your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, nationality, and a profile photograph. You are required to provide a clear profile image and proof of identity (such as a copy of your government-issued ID or Iqama) during registration for verification purposes. Only female individuals aged 18 or older are permitted to register as Users, so we may also collect information (like date of birth and gender) to confirm eligibility.
Location and Address: Your physical address and/or general location. Users must provide a valid home address (at least once during registration or when scheduling a service) so that Sitters know where to perform the cat sitting services. We may collect your GPS location or general geographic area to show nearby sitters or to verify service locations, if you grant permission through your device settings.
Pet Information: Details about your cat(s) that are relevant to the care service. This may include your cat’s name, breed, age, health information, and any care instructions or preferences you provide.
Payment Information: When you make a booking, you will provide payment details. Payments are processed via our third-party payment processor. While we do not store full credit/debit card numbers on our servers, we collect transaction details and may store tokens or partial card information necessary for processing payments or issuing refunds. (For example, we may retain the last four digits of your card number and the card issuer information for record-keeping and fraud prevention.)
Communication and Content: Any content you submit or generate through the Platform, such as messages between you and the sitter using our in-app chat, reviews and ratings you leave for sitters, or feedback you provide. This includes any communications with customer support and any information you post in app forums or discussion boards (if applicable). We collect and monitor these communications to facilitate the service, resolve disputes, ensure compliance with our terms, and improve user safety. Please note that user reviews of sitters (including your first name, your cat’s name, profile photo, and the review content) will be visible to other users on the Platform.
Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Platform, such as your device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, device identifiers, and log information about how you interact with our app (pages or screens viewed, features used, time stamps, etc.). We may use cookies or similar technologies to collect some of this data if you access any web interfaces. This usage data helps us analyze and improve our Platform’s functionality and user experience.
Optional Social Media Data: If you choose to connect or log in to KittySitter through a third-party platform (e.g., using an Apple ID or social media account), we may receive certain information from that provider (such as your name and email from your Facebook or Apple account) as permitted by that platform’s terms and your privacy settings.
We collect only the information necessary to provide our services and as required by law. You are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date personal data. If you refuse to provide certain information (such as identity verification documents or contact details), we may not be able to register you as a User or allow you to book services through the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age, and Users must be at least 18 (and female) to register, as noted.
KittySitter uses your personal information to operate, provide, and improve our services. The main purposes for which we process User data include:
Providing Services: We use your data to create and manage your user account, to enable you to search for and book cat sitters, and to facilitate the cat sitting services you request. For example, we use your profile and pet information to match you with suitable sitters, and your contact and address information to allow a booked sitter to reach you and perform the service at the correct location.
Verification and Safety: We use the identity documents and profile information you provide to verify your identity and eligibility (e.g., confirming you are female and 18+) and to enhance trust and safety on the platform. For instance, we may conduct an ID verification check. We also may screen Users (and Sitters) against sanction lists or perform other due diligence as required by law or our internal safety policies.
Processing Payments: We use payment information to charge you for bookings you make through the app and to prevent fraud. This includes transmitting your payment details to our payment processor and confirming successful payment. We also keep records of transactions (bookings, fees paid) for accounting, billing, and dispute resolution purposes.
Communication: We use your contact information (email, phone number) to send you service-related communications. These include booking confirmations and updates, reminders, receipts/invoices, and notifications from the app. We may also send you messages via SMS, in-app notifications, WhatsApp, or email for purposes such as confirming appointments, providing customer support, or conveying important information about your use of the service (e.g., policy updates). By using KittySitter, you consent to receive such communications. Communication between you and your sitter should generally occur through our in-app chat for safety and record-keeping; we monitor and may review these communications to prevent misuse, resolve disputes, and improve trust.
Reviews and User Content: If you submit a review or rating for a sitter, we will associate it with your profile and display it to others as part of the sitter’s overall ratings. We use your feedback to maintain quality (for example, rewarding top-rated sitters or addressing complaints). We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove reviews that violate our guidelines or applicable laws. However, we do not edit the content of your reviews otherwise, and they reflect your own opinions.
Platform Improvement and Analytics: We may use data about your app usage and feedback to improve our Platform’s performance, features, and user experience. For example, usage data helps us debug issues, and understanding booking patterns helps us optimize our matching algorithm. We also use cookies or similar technologies on our website (if you use it) for analytics and to remember your preferences.
Marketing and Offers: With your consent or as otherwise permitted by law, we may use your email or other contact info to send you promotional communications about new features, services, or special offers from KittySitter. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or contacting us. (Transactional and service-related communications will still be sent as needed.)
Legal Compliance and Enforcement: We may process and retain your data as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations (such as KSA e-commerce and data protection laws), and to respond to lawful requests by public authorities. We also use your information to enforce our Terms & Conditions and policies, to prevent, detect and investigate fraud, security breaches, or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities. For example, if we suspect a User of engaging in fraudulent payments or misuse of the Platform, we may use their data to investigate and take appropriate action (such as suspending the account).
We will only use your personal data for the purposes described above or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection. If we need to process your data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and obtain your consent or rely on another valid legal basis as required by law.
We treat your personal information with care and do not sell or rent your data. However, we do need to share certain information with others to provide the KittySitter services and to comply with law. The circumstances under which we may share Users’ personal data include:
With Cat Sitters (Service Providers): When you submit a booking request or confirm a booking with a sitter, we will share necessary information about you with that sitter, and vice versa, to facilitate the service. This includes your first name, the initial of your last name (or full name as needed for ID verification at meeting), the general location or address where the service will take place, details about your cat and any instructions you provided, and your phone number (to coordinate drop-off/pick-up or in case of emergency). Similarly, once a booking is accepted, the sitter’s name, photo, and contact number will be shared with you. Both you and the sitter are required to keep this information confidential and use it only for purposes of fulfilling the cat sitting service. We do not share your government ID or full account data with the sitter; they only see what is necessary to perform the job.
With Third-Party Service Providers: We use trusted third parties to support our operations. This includes payment processors, identity verification services, cloud hosting and data storage providers, analytics services, and customer support tools. These service providers will have access to your personal data only to perform tasks on our behalf (for example, processing your card payment, or verifying the authenticity of your ID) and are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and to use appropriate security measures. For instance, our payment processing partner will handle your card information in accordance with PCI-DSS standards, and an SMS or email service might use your email or phone to send messages you’ve authorized. We ensure that any third-party handling User data protects it in compliance with this Policy and applicable laws.
Within Jaite Apps and Affiliates: If our company has affiliates, parent, or subsidiary companies in the future (for example, if KittySitter is offered under Jaite Apps along with other services), we may share data with those affiliated entities under common ownership for business operations, consistent with this Policy. Currently, KittySitter is a single service; if this changes, we will update you.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or legal process, or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal obligations or government requests (for example, to respond to a court order or law enforcement inquiry), (ii) enforce our Terms & Conditions or other agreements, (iii) protect our rights and property, or the rights, property, and safety of our users, sitters, or the public. For example, in the event of an incident during a booking, we might be obligated to provide relevant information to law enforcement authorities as part of an investigation.
Business Transfers: If KittySitter (or Jaite Apps) undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, your personal data may be among the assets transferred. We will ensure the confidentiality of any personal data involved in such transactions and provide notice before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With Your Consent: In cases other than those above, we will share your personal information with third parties only with your explicit consent. For instance, if we want to feature your testimonial or story on our website or partner with another company for a special promotion where sharing of information is required, we would obtain your consent.
Importantly, KittySitter does not share Users’ personal information with other Users or Sitters except as needed to fulfill the services and maintain the Platform. We do not disclose your contact details or identity to general public or other Users browsing the app beyond what is described (e.g., other users cannot see your profile or personal details; only sitters you engage with will see necessary info). Reviews you write will show your first name and cat’s name, but not your full contact information.
We understand the sensitivity of the personal data you entrust to us. KittySitter employs administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (e.g., our app uses HTTPS secure connections), encryption of sensitive data at rest (such as password hashes or identity documents), access controls to ensure only authorized personnel can access personal data, and regular security audits and monitoring. We also anonymize or pseudonymize data where feasible and appropriate, especially for analytics.
Your data is stored primarily on secure servers located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. All user profile data, identification documents, and images are stored in databases and storage systems that are physically based in Saudi Arabia for compliance with local data residency requirements. We utilize cloud infrastructure and servers, some of which are located in Frankfurt, Germany (within the European Union), to process and route data. However, when data is processed on our Frankfurt servers, it is done so transiently for service functionality and is not permanently stored or retained on those servers. In other words, our European server acts as a processing hub but does not archive your personal data; the master storage remains in Saudi Arabia. We ensure that any transfer or processing of personal data outside Saudi Arabia is performed in accordance with Saudi law and with appropriate safeguards. For example, the European Union (Germany) has robust data protection laws that are generally considered to offer adequate protection, and we additionally rely on your acceptance of this Policy (which constitutes your consent where required) for such cross-border processing. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to this arrangement.
Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take steps to protect your account by choosing a strong password, keeping your login credentials confidential, and logging out of shared devices. If you believe your KittySitter account or data may have been compromised, please contact us immediately.
We will retain your personal information for as long as you maintain an active account with KittySitter or as long as needed to provide you with our services. If you deactivate or request deletion of your account, or if we terminate your account as permitted by our Terms, we will initiate the deletion of or anonymization of your personal data. However, please note: (1) certain data may be retained for a limited period beyond account deletion, and (2) certain data may not be completely deleted if it has been aggregated or anonymized in a way that does not identify you, or if we are legally required to keep it.
Specifically, identification documents (such as your ID/Iqama copy) and certain account information will be securely retained for up to 30 days after you delete your account. This brief retention period is to comply with Article 5 of the Saudi E-Commerce Law which allows retaining personal data with user consent for the period required to complete transactions or address issues. We keep data for 30 days post-deletion to resolve any disputes or legal matters that might arise shortly after account closure (for example, a complaint from a sitter about a past booking, or a payment issue). During this retention window, your data will not be accessible on the Platform to other users or sitters, but may be accessed internally only for the above purposes. After the 30-day period, we will permanently erase or anonymize the personal data associated with your account, including your ID documents and profile information, unless a longer retention is required by law.
In certain cases, we may retain some information for a longer period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. For example:
Transaction Records: We retain booking and payment records as needed for accounting, audits, and compliance with financial regulations. Saudi regulations (and our own financial policies) may require keeping records of transactions for several years. In such cases, we retain only what is necessary (e.g., a receipt record containing date, amount, and parties).
Legal Obligations and Disputes: If there is an ongoing dispute, investigation, or legal proceeding involving your account, we will retain the necessary information until it is resolved and no longer subject to appeal. We may also retain information if required to enforce our agreements or to comply with legal retention obligations (for instance, under applicable commercial or tax laws).
Platform Integrity: We may retain data on closed accounts to the extent necessary to detect and prevent fraud, protect other users, and enhance safety. For example, we keep a hash of your ID or device identifier if you were banned for misconduct, to prevent you from circumventing the ban. This data is limited and only used for security purposes.
After we no longer need your personal data, we will destroy it or anonymize it in compliance with Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law and other applicable laws. “Destroy” means that we will permanently delete or overwrite the data such that it cannot be reasonably reconstructed or linked back to you. Anonymized data (which can no longer identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics or statistical purposes without further notice, since it no longer constitutes personal information.
As a User of KittySitter in Saudi Arabia, you have certain rights regarding your personal data, consistent with the Kingdom’s data protection regulations and our commitment to user privacy. These rights include:
Access and Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to obtain information about how we process it. Most of your basic account data can be viewed in your profile within the app. If you require a fuller report or a copy of your data, you can contact us (see Contact Us below) and we will provide you with the relevant information, provided it does not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.
Correction (Rectification): We take steps to ensure that the information we have about you is accurate and up-to-date. If you find that any of your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct it. You can update some information directly by editing your profile (for example, you can change your email or address in the app). For any details that you cannot change, contact us with the correct information, and we will update it if we can verify the change.
Deletion: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”). You can delete your KittySitter account at any time through the app’s settings or by contacting support. As explained in the Data Retention section, upon account deletion we will remove or anonymize your personal data after at most 30 days (aside from minimal data we may retain for legal reasons). If you want us to delete specific information without closing your account, you may request that as well; we will accommodate if possible (for example, you may ask us to delete an old chat conversation or a photo, unless we need to keep it for evidence). Keep in mind that certain content you provided might have been shared with others (for instance, reviews you wrote); while we can dissociate such content from your profile upon deletion, we might not always remove the content itself unless required (we will handle these on a case-by-case basis).
Objection to Processing: You may have the right to object to certain types of processing, such as for direct marketing or any processing based on our legitimate interests. In practice, if you receive marketing emails from us, you can opt-out as described above. If you have any concerns about our data practices or wish to object to processing that you believe is not justified, you can contact us and explain your objection. We will consider your request and stop or modify the processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or it is needed for legal reasons.
Restriction of Processing: In some circumstances (for example, if you contest the accuracy of your data or have objected to our processing), you can request that we restrict processing your data while your concern is being resolved. This means we would store your data but not actively use it until the issue is resolved.
Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process personal data (such as for marketing emails or certain optional data processing), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. For example, you can opt out of marketing, and we will stop sending you promotional communications. However, note that if you withdraw consent for essential processing (like use of your ID for verification), we may need to deactivate your account if we no longer have a legal basis to process necessary data to provide the service.
Data Portability: To the extent required by law, you may request to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to have that data transmitted to another service provider where technically feasible. We will assist with such requests as appropriate.
Complaint: If you believe we have infringed your privacy rights or Saudi data protection laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the regulatory authority in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) and its National Data Management Office oversee personal data protection. We encourage you to contact us first, so we have the opportunity to address your concerns directly.
Exercising Your Rights: You can typically exercise many of your rights through the app (e.g., accessing and editing your profile, deleting your account, opting out of communications). For any requests or issues regarding your personal data, you can also reach out to us at the contact information provided below. We will require verification of your identity for security purposes before fulfilling certain requests (such as providing a data export or deleting data) to ensure that the person making the request is actually you. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by law (generally within 30 days). Please note that these rights are subject to some conditions and exceptions under applicable law; there may be situations where we cannot fully comply, for example, if your request conflicts with legal obligations or the rights of other individuals, but we will explain such situations if they arise.

If you use our website or web portal, KittySitter and our third-party analytics or advertising partners may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to analyze usage and provide a better experience. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through an in-app notification, and by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continuing to use KittySitter after a revised Policy has been posted means you accept the changes. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the services and may delete your account.
